Mahogany Hallways

Most of me is still
running on empty

I love you
But can't have you
It makes me beautiful
So when I have to
put another one of them down
It's all thanks to you

I can't seem to deny it
I can't figure how to sell it
I don't have a smile so fake
it's too much for me to take

if any of my desire
tries to escape
I will plug it up
I'll turn to shaking caverns
When my earth quakes
I always find your face.

God, I want you
But can't have you
It makes me vengeful
So when I have to
take another one of them down
I'll give thanks for you

On the rare occasion
I sip too much red wine
I'll wander mahogany hallways
to slump against solidarity
where your touch can find me

I can't seem to deny it
I can't figure how to sell it
I don't have a smile to fake
I don't have anything left
for you to wanna take
