Killer Bees

I loved someone
and they showed me
my heart was already broken
It's not as if
I needed reminding
I found myself empathizing
what kind of love
tells you you're wrong
only to kick you around
I don't understand
I want to
because my pain is too real

When a universal heart breaks
how many worlds fall apart?
If a universal heart mends
how many lives would that end?

If this was right
would I believe
in the truth I push down?
If you are real
could I believe
there is a place we lived
before heaven
before hell?
our own special paradise
snakes and trees
unabashed truth
laying naked, unafraid

Adam and Eve
alone in Eden
it is a beautiful dream
Good lord above
mother below
bring me something i can hold
passing glances
meaning in lines
ethereal memories
keep me awake
have bound me here
praying for divine knowledge

If a worldly heart breaks
Do the mountains fall apart?
If a worldly heart mends
will the skies break wide open?

sleeping beauty
dead or alive
passed out on the cold hard rock
swimming through dreams
looking for him
found herself a bright goddess
afraid she hid
away from light
to save herself from harm
I lost to her
she became me
and this life became my myth

When an angelic heart breaks
how many saints die?
When an angelic heart mends
how many saints cry?

slide down the ground
displace water
I lift my voice to the wind
Heaven listens
Gia feels the strain
I wait for intervention
I call you forth
come come come come
I will shine for you alone
honest beauty
stinging shyness
let me see your truest form

If you exist
hear me singing
my words reach through space and time
they will find you
until you are home
If they spur you further on
so you can't see
where I'm hiding
then i'll have to keep charming
trav'ling spirits
gods, ghosts, elementals
all the wonders of fairie
to being you close
enough to touch
So I can show you myself

I imagine
you are beautiful
made of glittering colored sweets
just like the ones
that surround me
A heart of the purest blue
beating proud in
honor and truth
that gentles all it touches
perhaps sad eyes
a heavy head
Tired of waiting for me

Look behind you
just a step back
Before I let you fly off
see me just once
then you decide
what it is you really need
maybe you'll find
answers you seek
in my lovely starry eyes
if home resides
inside of me
i'll open myself for you

to bring you back
where you belong
I would always keep you here
selfishly
for our best interest
and if you would allow me
i'd give to you
my preciousness
still i hold it free of taint
i'll die before
anyone else
can ruin my gift for you

and for the sake
of all that's good
By Heaven's name I do swear
we will not be
ever again
empty listless or frightened
take this warm hand
lay here with me
show me all of your feelings
so i'll know best
how to protect
your dearest guarded secret

If your heart breaks
what does that do to me?
If i mend this heart
what does that do to you?

open your eyes
focus your ears
find me as soon as you can
time is passing
leaves are falling
the body is aging now
before my life's end
I must surely know
what kind of heart you have
so I can show
you how to love
eternally forever
