Inside the Music

Who you are and what you love
caged in by people who say they care
so why do they push and shove
complain about your friends, your hair

and why does every good thing
worked hard for turn out to crap in the end
good intentions come back to sting
a little affection and your heart will mend

here with you in solitude
you can be yourself
make your dreams
that follow your heart
and if the pain returns
just raise the volume

sick of bending backward for someone
fill your head with possibilities
express that no more: you're done
run ragged from their difficulties

"its about time my heart gets its way
and i would like a bit of praise too
watch and learn, i will have my say
because i have been killing myself for you"

go ahead and be angry
Hiding inside your radio
behind your headphones
here you can feel honestly
without faking modesty

where you can be you
and wishes come true
make up for what you lack
with your own soundtrack
make your dreams
that follow your heart
and if the pain returns
Hide inside your radio
behind your headphones
escape to your own world
to the place you belong

dont worry, now we're safe
Hiding inside your radio
behind your headphones
just you and me
now we are free

"How should i look and how should i act?"
for now you are the master of this domain
change me to fantasy from fact
right now your dreams aren't in vain

the ones who break you down
they can be fixed along side
after all you've done and tried
show off the new power you've found

Take what is rightfully yours
doing the impossible
since life's not that flexible
but for a few fleeting moments

where you can be you
and wishes come true
make up for what you lack
with your own soundtrack
make your dreams
that follow your heart
and if the pain returns
Hide inside your radio
behind your headphones
escape to your own world
to the place you belong

just you and me
now we are free
